Have you ever felt lost?

Maybe a lack of fulfilment?

That something is missing in your life?

If you said yes, then you are not alone.

Lots of people I coach all struggle with finding their passions and purpose In life.

This can lead to chasing things that have no meaning, buying more stuff to fill a hole and just feeling like you are going through the motions waiting for that big break.

Unfortunately, the big break never comes.

UNLESS you get super clear on what you want and why.

When we feel connected to a goal that is bigger than ourselves, our life begins to feel more exciting.

We feel like we are living in alignment, which makes us feel more energised and joyful each day.

Discovering one's purpose is essential to living a full life.

So where do you begin?

Start by asking better questions!

Here are 5 questions you can ask now to seek more clarity and find your purpose.

  1. What would the future you regret not doing?

Picture this, your 90 years old sitting in your rocking chair. You've had a great life, but you feel like you haven't lived up to your full potential.

You feel a sense of lack as your life draws to an end. You feel a sense of sadness as you begin to feel you lived your life to please others.

It hits you hard, as a sense of sadness comes over you.

Unfortunately, this scenario is all too common.

Having recently read a fantastic book called "The five regrets of the dying" by Bonnie Ware the most common regret was...

"I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me".

So pause and ask yourself.

What would the future you regret not doing?

Do you have a dream or passion that you keep putting off?

There is no time like the present. Someday and one day are not days of the week.

Remember "change can be scary, but what's even scarier…… regret".

2. What talents or expertise do you have that the world needs right now?

We are all unique. There never has been and never will be anyone like you.

Everyone has a unique gift to share with the world, so what's yours?

Everyone was born with brilliance inside of them, that so often goes to waste.

Pause and ask yourself.

What are my gifts and how can I share them with the world to lift humanity and feel a sense of contribution.

When we feel we are contributing to others, it makes us feel incredible.

So don't be afraid to shine. The world needs your unique gift now more than ever.

3. What brings you joy?

When do you feel really happy?

When do you feel in flow and time seems not to exist?

Life is to short not to experience more of what brings you joy.

Whatever it is make sure you schedule these experiences in more often (providing it is good for your mental and physical health).

Remember what doesn't get schedule won't get done so put it In your planner today.

4. If you could plan your ideal day, what would you do in the next 24 hours?

How would your ideal day look? Spend time writing and visualising.

What are you doing?

Who are you with?

Asking yourself these questions will give you a great idea of what your passions are, which will lead to your purpose.

Be kind to yourself; it takes time getting to know yourself at such a deep level, but your future self will thank you for it.

5. What did you enjoy doing as a child?

Were you creative, did you enjoy arts and crafts?

Did you enjoy writing or reading?

What creative play did you often do?

If you are struggling to remember, ask your parents or people who knew you as a child.

This will give you a great indication of what brought you joy before you grew up and were told who you had to be, and how to live your life.

6. How do you want to be remembered?

"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honourable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." —Ralph Waldo Emerson

How do you want your loved ones to describe you?

Maybe kind, joyful and fun.

Ask yourself, are you in alignment with those words?

If not, don't beat yourself up.

Once we are aware of what isn't working, we have the power to change it.

When it comes to purpose, everyone will be different.

Don't think you need to change the world.

Your purpose could be to be an incredible parent and a role model for your kids.

It could be to create beautiful art for people to enjoy.

It could be to start a business that changes lots of lives.

Whatever it is just begin living within the alignment of your higher purpose as soon as possible.

When we know what we want and what brings us joy we feel amazing each day.

When we feel we are not living a life true to ourselves, it can leave us feeling unfulfilled, bored and sometimes even depressed.

So start thinking about the person you want to be and what you want to achieve in life and start moving towards that goal every day.

The more you feel you are growing and moving towards your ideal self and life every day, the happier and more energised you will feel.
